Department for Transport officials have accepted a bid for an inquiry into plans to move forward a row of shops at Princess House.

Claims that changes to Shrewsbury’s Square are needed to ensure businesses can keep trading there have been described as ‘utter nonsense’ by a Shropshire councillor.

Andrew Bannerman, who represents Quarry and Coton Hill, said he did not accept an argument put forward to alter Princess House.
